Congratulations on your purchase of your Prolux Tritan! You are going to love how much deep cleaning power it has and how easy it is to use :) Having troubles? No worries we have built this guide to get you up and running in a matter of minutes.

Directions for Men - Since men don't "need" directions ignore this page and turn it over to your wife. Continue to ignore her advice. Average time to figure out how to use your new Prolux Tritan vacuum = 2 hours.

Direction for Women - Review the videos on this page and common troubleshooting section below. Average time to figure out how to use your new Prolux Tritan vacuum = 5 minutes.

Now that we have had a little fun with the men jokes lets jump right in :) The first thing we want to cover is a quick video below on how to assemble and use. This solves most peoples problems and only takes a minute to review.

Here is some other quick videos that you might find helpful as well :)

This is a quick overview of the Prolux Tritan. It goes over its features and settings and shows you all of the different things it can do.

Problems with the turbo head not picking up as good as it used to? Check out this video from one of our dealers as they go through how to optimize the power head.

How to maintain your Prolux Tritan. In this video we go over how to replace the vacuum bags, pre motor filter and HEPA filter so your vacuum lasts for many years to come.

For TERRIBLE results
For BEST results
  • Never replace your bags until they are 100% full and your motor overheats.

  • Never clean your filters so your house smells, your vacuum loses suction, and your motor overheats.

  • Never cut off hair and carpet fibers from your brushroll so your vacuum does not clean as good.

  • Never read the owners manual. Instead say "I got this" and throw it in your junk drawer to never be seen again.

WARNING: OK we wrote this to be funny and get your attention but seriously for safety reasons don't do this.

  • For best results (vacuum will last longer and deep clean better) replace your disposable bag when it is half full.

  • Clean your filters. We suggest every 3 months but even every 6 months is acceptable. This keeps your motor running cool and suction power fully deep cleaning.

  • From time to time remove carpet fiber and hair from brushroll.

  • Replace filters once a year. No worries when you click on "Register Warranty" we will email you coupons for that.

  • Read the included Owners Manual.

Common Troubleshooting & Easy Tips

Do you know the #1 problem the Prolux Tritan has? TOO MUCH suction power :) It is true. However, here at Prolux we think there is no such thing as too much suction power. Some customers have said the vacuum has so much power its hard to move across the floor. No problem that is why we added in suction control on both the canister and the hose. Too much power? No problem just turn it down.

Too little suction OR too high suction.

  1. Make sure hose is firmly connected to canister and wand.

  2. Make sure knob on canister is all the way turned up (or down if you want less power).

  3. Make sure suction release valve on the hose (near where your hand goes) is closed (for most power) or open for less power.

  4. Make sure any carpet fiber or hair is cut from around your brushroll.

  5. Check your bag or HEPA filter. If those are dirty it can slow down the suction of your vacuum. It is best to change the bag when it is half full and clean your HEPA filter every 6 months.

Vacuum feels awkward while vacuuming.

No problem that is why we main the main wand adjustable to different people who have different heights. Simply push the release button on the wand (pictured left) to make the wand higher or lower.

Also, don't forget when cleaning hard to reach places like ceiling fans or ceiling cobwebs you can make the wand longer (see middle picture on the left).

How to change bags.

We go over this in the video above but you change your bags by...

  1. Press the bag chamber release button (picture on very left).

  2. Remove the old bag and insert a new bag and close bag chamber door.

  3. DO NOT THROW AWAY PLASTIC COLLAR :) See picture to the right.

Best!

Diamond is the best vac I ever owned/used & I owned many.
Fantom Fury (dysons 1st), Dysons DC/ Animal, Hoover (many), Devil Devils, Electrolux, just too many to list.
This Diamonds hi/low switch is a great feature no other vacs have. No other Kirbys have it even, its only found on the Diamond. This added Low speed option helps keep it from sucking up small carpets as you pass nearby, nice time saver on quicky cleanups.
I have this Diamond & a 2001 G series also. But I really love the Diamond best because of its hi/low switch. But truth is, other than the hi/low feature they are the same vac. Diamond if I recall correctly actually has a better OEM brush roller too but you can simply upgrade any other G series with the Diamond roller & this only leaves the hi/low feature setting the other G's apart here.
You won't beat this companies warranty either. I bought my 2001 here well over a decade ago, not a single problem yet but 5yrs I didnt worry about it either. Dont be fooled with Kirby lifetime warranty bs either. Thats only the motors outer case, its so Kirby can state "it has a lifetime motor warranty" and be half truthful. Sales garbo'...they toss lifetime around so buyers think it is but warranty fine print says differently trust me. This corp gives 5yrs on it & they mean it.
My Vac looked & performs like a brand new Kirby. My Diamond was brand new so I know exactly how a new Kirbys supposed to do, my 2001 ran just as well.
Anyone buying a Kirby regardless where its from please go to YouTube & watch factory demos & Great Vacs vids too, even if you had an in-home demo you'll still learn something new there.
Watch the vids, buy a Kirby from here, a decade later you'll still be happy as chit you did it just like I am. ✌️
