The instructions were very clear:
Do Not Throw Out The Bag Holder when changing bag to a new one.
I did not realize the plastic piece was essential to my magnificent machine but thought that fine piece of plastic was part of the bag itself, because it was attached to the pre-inserted bag
Sooo, out it went with the used bag. I did not insert a new bag immediately because I was done with enjoying a wonderful vacuum experience with my new toy. Had I done the replacement right away I would have realized the vacuum doesn’t even close without the bag holder inserted, much less run.

Hmm, I wonder if I should re-read the instructions on the car again in case I missed something there as well ! Maybe I do have turn signals and the other cars would stop honking at me when I make lane changes. I’ll check.
