Owned 6 different vacuums, and here is my take away from owning them all. My last two (before my Prolux 6000) were Panasonics. My oldest Panasonic is still working like new to this day, it's 20 plus years old. But my last Panasonic up right purchased, sad to say the bottom housing got cracked and fell apart but still worked. What I liked the most about the Panasonics, light weight, powerful (12 amps), no on-board tools PERIOD! I want to vacuum the floor, auto carpet to bare floor adjustment means I go room to room non-stop. Tools, is weight and regardless, always poorly designed in the available onboard design configuration. Which means I get tired sooner. Panasonics are discontinued so I discovered Prolux 6000 (actually was aware of the brand). What I like about it so far, very quiet, quieter than either of the Pansonics. Has HEPA bag type, you are not very smart if you believe in "bag-less", that is for another discussion. Motor protection filter and external vent filter (very nice touch Prolux. Handle is a touch short, yes it is. Why, cause I am a guy over six foot tall. Oh the Panasonics overall height is just under 3 more in overall height, and the finger grip handle is not warranted. I could and do maneuver the Panasonic deftly with just three fingers and thumb. So yes, guess what I did...? Yep, voided the manufactures warranty and put the Panasonics handle on the Prolux. I don't suggest or recommend doing so, I did, cause if I have to vacuum frequently... well ( an old saying "Give the biggest man, the toughest job and he will find an easy way to do it" That little bit of extra leverage makes a huge difference. Next is the power cord, nice and bright yellow, appropriate gauge, I don't use the onboard cord wrap for the express reason that doing so shortens the life of the cord. If you don't let it cool completely before coiling after use. Then there is the metal brush roller, should be an industry standard very reassuring on Prolux doing so. So I guess my largest complaint is the weight/ie. unnecessary weight that hinders its' deftness. But love how quiet it is, it seems to do a remarkable job of the task of vacuuming. Let you know possibly after I examine the bag contents in due order. So if Prolux reads this or is listening... You are doing a nice job, but maybe make a 4000 model with the above suggestions and add a visual vacuum bag full gauge. Cause if you make the claim that Prolux will pick up more than your old vacuum in a given time. Put a gauge on it ( yes, I hate to say it, but my old one has it)
This is the third Tritan I have purchased. These vacuums are amazing with extreme suction that is consistent. There is a dial on the top of the machine which allows the suction to be decreased for items like draperies. I have an upstairs unit as well as a downstairs unit. My original Tritan broke after about 12 years because I kept yanking the retractable cord too far and frayed the cord. I tried to find someone local to service but could not, so I emailed Prolux who informed me they don't repair home units. I figured I have gotten 12 years out of it, and it still would be working had I marked the cord where I couldn't overextend. I love these so much I decided to purchase a replacement and figured I would mark the cord as soon as it arrived. However, on my new unit Prolux has added a yellow and red marker on the cord, so I know where to stop before damage is done. I love the simple design on the vacuum where it is just point and go. My flooring is area rugs, ceramic tile and laminate and it works well on all. I use the tool caddy which attaches to the wand of the vacuum only for storage as it gets in the way and will get knocked off when vacuuming in small places. I can't believe the excellent price on this high-quality vacuum. I am a true fan of the Tritan and have never regretted purchasing these units!
So far very satisfied.
Very well built, easy to assemble. Contacted customer service on a missing piece and Anna was very quick on getting back and sent part out immediately. Outstanding customer service and product. Would definitely recommend!!!
I purchased this vacuum to use at home...we vacuum daily in my house mostly because we have 2 dogs and a little one. We are definitely tough on vacuums and so far this one is holding up beautifully. This is my first time with a backpack style vacuum and for me it took a bit to get used to it. It certainly is convenient, however, one thing I hadn't considered is that we live in a historic home with narrow doorways, hallways, and stairwells. My husband has definitely scuffed up the walls a few times when maneuvering 🤦🏻♀️ Otherwise happy with this powerhouse.
