After finishing a recent garage 'makeover', I wanted to complete the transformation with a nice higher quality vacuum that wasn't a 'shop vac'. I did a few weeks of research on a bunch of brands I'm familiar with and a few I wasn't. I was pretty impressed with the reviews I had read about the Prolux wet/dry garage vacuum, but found it frustrating there weren't more vacuum comparisons or YouTube videos on this vacuum compared to its competitors. But, I decided to take a chance and purchased this vacuum anyway.
A few thoughts. I'm very impressed with the build quality and look of this vacuum. It's a bit bigger than I expected, but overall, fits nicely in the space I allocated for it. The hanging bracket is very solid and easy to install. The performance of this vacuum is pretty much inline with everything I've read in the reviews. Strong suction, not too loud but not exactly quiet either. I immediately vacuumed out our two cars and the floor of my garage, all without a hitch. I read about some customers who were disappointed in the tools and hose this vacuum comes with. My impression is this, the tools aren't 'high end', but aren't crappy either. The tools I've used so far have worked well, especially the little air powered hand tool, that thing works fantastic! Could the hose be better? Yes, its a bit lightweight. On the other hand, this isn't a $500 vacuum either. When the tools or hose wear out, then I can upgrade those parts down the road. Overall, this is exactly what I was looking for and performs above my expectations. Will it last 2 decades? I hope! Time will tell.
A few things of concern. The brochures and other materials have a ton of misspelled words. Somebody has to go and make sure all marketing and instructional materials are top notch. The packaging is this vacuum comes in is less than impressive... again, its first impressions. But really, I'm only nitpicking. Just constructive criticism?
Great product!!!
