Before the grooming vacuum arrived, I told my husband that I bought him the best gift that he never knew he wanted. He was VERY skeptical of a pet vacuum, especially since our dog has been vacuum-phobic since day 1. She loves to be brushed, and other reviews mentioned how quiet this vacuum is, so I thought I would give it a try for my own sanity. When we got a Dutch/German Shepherd hybrid, I foolishly expected her to be like my previous Dutch Shepherd (that never shed). I was going insane vacuuming up "puppies" on a daily basis because she sheds more daily than the weekly cumulative amount of my last 3 dogs combined. Unless you have a GSD, I can't describe, in a meaningful way, just how much this mongrel sheds. We don't have carpets, but we vacuum almost daily because I don't like to wear fur-covered socks and pants, and I don't like fur wafting up to my nose! In addition to vacuuming, we would deshed the dog a few times per month. The problem with deshedding (before getting the Prolux pet grooming vacuum) was that we had to do it outside away from the doors and sidewalks. Unfortunately, the weather isn't always agreeable when we have time to brush the dog. Also, we can't send the kids in the yard unsupervised with the dog, just in case she bolts after a cat or squirrel. This vacuum-phobic fur factory LOVES the Prolux grooming vacuum. I couldn't be more pleased! Even on high suction, she's content to roll onto her back and expose her belly while getting a good deshed in the house. She thinks that she's getting pampered at some fancy doggy salon (spoiler alert - I'd never waste money on such frivolous things). Now I can vacuum less fur (from the floor) twice a week than I was previously vacuuming daily. I highly recommend this vacuum for anyone with a German Shepherd or other high-shed dog. I realize that it's not marketed like a flobee, but my kids want me to try it on them (with the clippers) during their next haircuts because they HATE "itchy" hair all over them during hair cuts. I'm excited about the cleaning attachment because I expect it will be great for clean up when I cut their hair. Thank you, Prolux engineers, for an ingenious product that is well-executed. I hope it's a great success on the market. At this price point, it SHOULD take the market by storm!
I wanted a canister vacuum so that my younger children could participate more with chores. Our bagless upright vacuum is too heavy for them to manipulate. I wanted a bagged canister specifically for better capture and disposal of allergens. After months of deliberation, I chose Prolux Tritan. I'm thrilled! I typically use the lowest motor speed. It's sufficient for almost everything, and it's so quiet that you can still hold a conversation or hear the TV in the background without blasting the volume. I like the humor in the user manual, and I appreciate the usability (I can tell that Prolux engineers have real HFE experience!). I like the selection of attachments and how easily I can reach under low furniture with a head that won't suck up toddler socks - revolutionary! Having the attachment options means that I can vacuum blindly under furniture and intentionally choose whether I want to suck up every lost sock and toy or just suck up the dust, dander, and dog fur around the lost socks and toys. I'm surprised that I don't mind that none of the attachments are lighted. With the good suction and variety of attachments, the light becomes optional. Another cool bonus is that my dog is relaxed when I vacuum with the Prolux. She was very anxious around all other vacuums I've used. Did the engineers specifically filter or muffle high frequencies? Not only is my dog more relaxed, but the kids and I are less annoyed by the Prolux noise than other vacs. The rigid vacuum tube has an adjustable length, but the lock is more usable when collapsing than when extending (the latter is a little clumsy). The various lengths are great for different heights of family members, and I can reach pretty far under the TV and coffee table while sitting in the recliner (true story). Although the attractive blue color may not help the vacuum clean better, it's a nice option. If it ever decide to spoil my adult children and buy them a Prolux Tritan, they can have the white (so that I know the difference if they try to steal mine). Besides the clumsy tube extension, my only other critique is that it's hard to store upright against a wall. It tends to fall. If I worked for Prolux R&D, I'd consider improving the placement and design of the attachment clips for the vacuum heads to stabilize upright storage and perhaps make it more compact. My husband told me tonight that he thinks we found our "forever vacuum" (so romantic!).
I have been using backpack vacuums for 12 years to clean elementary schools. This is absolutely the best I have ever used, for many reasons. First, the switch: it is on the body and is very easy to access. I can pick up multiple pencils, crayons, etc. and hold the nozzle above a waste basket, turn it off, and let the items fall. All in one second. The suction: no one matches the 150 cfm. The nozzle: it is perfectly counterbalanced to always rotate to the correct position. The attachment connection: strong and simple, has never failed me, and nothing like all the competitors. The hose and wand: sturdy and adaptive. The connection to the body turns and is removable, allowing easy unclogging at the most susceptible point for clogs. The motor: reliable and efficiently shuts down if someone tries to use it while clogged. The harness: lasts through hundreds of hours of constant putting on and taking off. No signs of fabric weakening or stretching. The waist belt clip quickly failed and I never missed it, simply used the shoulder straps, which are quite comfortable. The canister: very secure and easy to open/close. Super easy to empty, clean the filters. This is one of those few products where you appreciate everything that has gone into it, and the ease it adds to the job.
Its nice to have insurance, just glad we didn't need it
